A spectacular orchid that can be seen easily around Dorset.
Powerstock Common, Fontmell Down or Badbury Rings are all good sites- a
walk around the rings from late May through to late June will be sure to
produce this amongst the many other orchids that are on show there.
The "pollinia" in the Greater Butterfly are angled away from each other.
