The Violet Helleborine is an extremely rare plant in Dorset. I only know of two sites that are near to Sturminster Newton, but it took me a long time to actually locate the plants.
In Aug.2002 I found four plants in North Dorset, but in 2008 I found about 180 in Girdlers Coppice, but oddly I hear they have not reapeared this year! (2010)
