The others Helleborines
Green-flowered Helleborine
Green-flowered Helleborine.
There are four subspecies to the Green Flowered, each identified by the lip of the flower. I think that ours is called vectensis
I have found this one to be the hardest of this group to identify. It has curly edged leaves, what appears to be a hairless stem and pendulous flowers that never really open. I believe this plant is self- pollinating, so the flowers do not need to open, but the price for this is "puny" plants. I took this picture a couple of years ago near Waddock Cross and it's a fine plant. This year has produced a poor selection of stunted plants.
