Far easier to find in Hampshire than in Dorset,althoughrestricted mainly to the New Forest area, there are some sites with many dozens of flowers. The area around Pig Bush supports large numbers where they can be found growing with Heath Spotted Orchid. It is in flower from the end of May .
The "pollinia" in the Lesser Butterfly are allways vertical, parallel and close together.
